Faculty Profile

Rev. Dr. Santanu K. Patro is Associate Professor and Head of the Department in Women's Studies. He is also Associate Professor in the Department of Religion. He obtained his B.A. from Berhampur University and M.A. from Osmania University. He did his theological education, M.Th. and D.Th. in Religions from the Senate of Serampore College. Dr. Patro has contributed to different organisations in various capacities and has served the Eastern Theological College as a Lecturer. He has written and published a number of articles. He is a member of the Baptist Church.

Dr. Ms. Monica J. Melanchthon is Professor of Old Testament Studies and Women' Studies. She finished her B.A. from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore and B.D. from The United Theological College, Bangalore. Prof. Melanchthon has a Ph.D. in Old Testament from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and has published quite a number of articles in leading international journals. She hails from Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church and is a recognised feminist theologian. She holds various positions in LWF and other like organisations.

Rev. D. David Augustine is Assistant Professor in the Department of Women's Studies. He has obtained his B.D. and M.Th. in Women's Studies from Senate of Serampore College. He is an ordained minister of the Baptist Church. He has ministerial experience particularly among fisher folk. As a teacher and a coordinator of reputed institutions, he has a tremendous experience. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. studies at Chicago Theological Seminary, Chicago.
