During the academic year 2017-2018, we organise three Staff-students retreat – beginning of every academic year, beginning of 2nd semester (combined with Reformation Day) and the last on Ash Wednesday. It begins on Tuesday evening with an introduction to the Theme by the leader followed by a morning, mid-morning and noon sessions on Wednesday. The climax of the retreat is the Holy Eucharist attended by the faculty, the students, and all the non-teaching staff and it ends with a community meal. The retreat sets the tone for the activities of the academic year/semester and is spiritually beneficial to the Gurukul community.
The first staff-student retreat was led by Rev. Dr. John Samuel (Dean of Indian School of Ecumenical Theology, ECC, Bangalore) on the theme Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God alone) on 6-7 June, 2017. Tamil Speaking students held special retreat session in Tamil language for the College service staff.
